Business Card Reader for iOS

Supported languages are: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Danish, Dutch, Greek, Norwegian, Portuguese, Swedish, Turkish, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.

If you want to try card recognition before purchasing a Pro version we recommend to download free version here. Free version offers the same functionality as Pro version with the limitation of up to 5 business cards initially and 1 card per week later on.
You may purchase unlimited recognitions as in-app purchase from the free app or buy a full version of the app here.

If your iPad has iOS8 or later, it is recommended to use Business Card Reader Pro or Business Card Reader.
Business Card Reader HD doesn’t work on iOS8.

Here are the steps to download purchased app without being charged again:

Sign in with the Apple ID that you used for the original purchase.
Tap App Store.
If you're using an iPhone or iPod touch, tap Updates, then tap Purchased.
If you're using an iPad, tap Purchased.
Find Business Card Reader Pro.
Tap the Download icon.
After the app downloads, you can open it from the Home screen.

* Please check that business card is in one of supported languages.
* Please make sure that you have selected proper language in iPhone's Settings / BC Reader / Languages.
* Please make sure that photo quality is good and image is clear.
* Check the card orientation. On iPhone 6 and 6 Plus hold the phone vertical to the card. On iPhone 4S and 5C hold the phone horizontal to the card.

When BCR Pro app tries to access the camera for the first time on iOS8, the user is presented with a camera permission dialog. You need to allow this permission.

Please check in Settings-Privacy-Camera on your iPhone if permission to use Camera is granted to BCR app.

You can export to Salesforce if your in-app Salesforce subscription is active or in trial mode.

After you scan the card you can find it in card holder. Choose the card, tap Export and select Salesforce as an export service. Enter your Salesforce credentials in the app and allow permissions. You can set Business Card Reader to export to Salesforce automatically after you save the contact.

In Edit mode you will be able to set Salesforce type as Lead, Contact or Account.

You may customize your Salesforce1 to scan business cards from Salesforce1 mobile app.
Please see this Customization Guide

In Card Holder choose the card, then 'Edit'.
In Edit mode you will be able to set Salesforce type as Lead, Contact or Account.

Some users may observe country error as the app and Salesforce recognize countries and states differently. Our developers are working to resolve this issue. In the meantime there are two workarounds to resolve it fast:

1. Ask your system administrator to disable state and country picklist feature in Salesforce for the time of exporting. You can find how to do it here.

2. Do not save address in BCR. Just remove recognized fields from the address section.

After you scan the card you can find it in card holder. Choose the card, tap Export and select Excel. Then you will be able to email card in .xls format.

After you scan the card you can find it in card holder. Choose the card, tap Export and select Evernote as an export service. Enter your Evernote credentials if you haven’t configured them before. You can set Business Card Reader to export to Evernote automatically after you save the contact.

Yes, Business Card Reader supports integration with existing CRM systems. For technical information, please see integration setup guide.

Contacts synchronization is not a feature of Business Card Reader. However, contacts created by Business Card Reader may be synchronized with Outlook as well as other contacts on your device. Read this article on how to sync iPhone contacts with Outlook.

Due to the modifications added to iOS 8.1 update Business Card Reader HD (version 2.2.6) may not work correctly with latest iOS versions. Since the development of Business Card Reader HD has been suspended, users who observe the issue are recommended to download Business Card Reader Pro or Business Card Reader that are compatible with iPad.

There still a way to find the contact details if they were scanned and recognized with Business Card Reader: they should be already in the address book of your iPad.

In Card Holder choose the card, tap on the photo (Edit) and choose photo from the Gallery.

Please accept our apologies with temporary inconvenience. It’s a known issue in version 3.3. The next update of the app will fix the problem.

You can scan one side of your business card and save the contact to address book, then scan another side and select 'Merge' to add this information to existing contact.

Business Card Reader’s data can be easily backed up with the rest content of your iOS device using iCloud or iTunes. More details here.

We recommend you to use iCloud backup and restore. When you backup your iPhone/iPad using iCloud, your third party applications are also backed up. Card Holder can be backed up with whole phone backup. You may check this article on how to perform backup and restore from backup.

Important:

Your apps will be restored as long as they're compatible with your device. For example, an app that's compatible only with iPad won't be restored to your iPhone.
Your device must be using the same or later version of iOS that was used to create the backup. Update to the latest version of iOS, and try to restore again.

No, it is not possible.

Advice: You can load photos on your device and then scan all of them once again using batch mode. To load photos from the phone library you would need to open permissions for the app to access Camera Roll.
