I have pauses during Internet radio audio stream playback. How can I eliminate them?

Radio pauses during the playback are attributed to carrier download speed.
In order to help you with this we have created a list with low bitrate radio stations that play without pauses on low connection speed.
Long pauses during playback are caused by the radio station buffering process.
In order to eliminate this issue select the lower buffer size setting in application Settings -> Radio -> Buffer size.
You may also try to change data connection type in xPlayer at Settings -> Radio -> General.
We recommend to use BIS or Direct TCP. Make sure that TCP is configured properly on your Blackberry (Options -> Advanced -> TCP on your Blackberry).
You may find TCP/IP settings on our WAP-site or ask your wireless carrier for TCP/IP settings.

Some radio stations might have various bitrate playback options, thus different URLs to play.
In xPlayer you can configure the bitrate to play. By default it is set as an average to 48 KBit/sec. You can change it to a higher bitrate, if it is supported by the station and you have good connection speed.
Please note that playing high bitrate stations requires high connection speed. If your connection speed is low, you won't be able to play high bitrate stations.

I get "Playback Error" during internet radio audio stream playback. How can I fix it?

The error could be the result of temporary connection problems. Also, some BlackBerry OS versions do not have the appropriate settings to playback stream audio. We recommend that you update your BlackBerry OS to 4.3.x, 4.5.x, 4.6.x or higher.

Local video files are not played properly. What should I do?

First of all please check that the file has supported format.
If the file doesn't have supported format, you may convert it using Mobiola Video Studio and then play on your Blackberry.

If the file has supported format, but xPlayer still cannot play it, please check if standard player on your Blackberry can play it.
If standard player on your Blackberry cannot play this file, it means that this format is not supported by your Blackberry's OS.
Updating OS may be helpful, or you may convert this file using Mobiola Video Studio.
If standard player on your Blackberry can play the file, but xPlayer cannot play it, please contact our support team, and we will investigate this situation.

I am getting "Access to file system error" when trying to access my local folders. Is there anything I can do?

First of all, please check if your SD card is available, the Blackberry device should correctly display the SD card.
Then make sure that files and folders can be opened by other applications. The problem might be general and not directly related to xPlayer.
If all of the above work properly, then follow these tips:

  • Please set security permissions for xPlayer by following these steps:
    -On your Blackberry go to Options / Security / Application Permissions.
    -Select xPlayer.
  • -Select Edit Permissions from the menu.
    -Configure the security permissions to "Allow" for all categories.
    -Save the changes.
    -Then try to launch xPlayer once more.
  • If the Media Card was not activated, go to your Blackberry's Options / Memory and activate
    your Media Card;
  • If the mass storage mode is ON and your device is connected to your PC, the Media Card is
    not available for 3rd party applications in this case.
    Sometimes after disconnecting from PC, Media Card cannot be detected on the device.
    Please soft reset your Blackberry in this case;
  • Access might me blocked by BES IT Policy. Please contact your system administrator in
    order to resolve the issue.

When starting xPlayer, I get an error: "Error starting xplayer:module 'net_rim_xml_org' not found"
