IM+Talk for Java Phones

Postby larryjam » Mon Jan 10, 2011 4:33 am

Please forgive me if I have posted my problem in the wrong forum, I could not find a specific forum for IM+Talk for Java Phones.

I have downloaded and installed IM+Talk for Java Phones (V 1.36) on my INQ Chat 3G phone. I am still using the trial version.

My Skype subscription has unlimited calling for Canada and USA.

It is working fine, except that I am being charged for local minutes (20 cents per min) by my provider (Telus)

I understood that the app would use my data plan to make the calls and not my minutes.

What am I missing here?

Please help, Thank You.

Also I read this on your Frequently Asked Questions page, because my Skype subscription is Canada and USA Unlimited, this tells me that I should not be charged for the call to my call back number.
If you use Unlimited Europe, Unlimited country or Unlimited World, you won't pay for outgoing calls to phone number within the range of your Skype subscription.
Also you won't pay for callback to your phone number, if it is within the range of your Skype subscription.
Learn more about the Skype Unlimited subscriptions.

I am no longer using the free trial, I have purchased a subscription, please help.

Hi,

Your wireless carrier shouldn't charge you for calls made via IM+ Talk application.

We suppose incoming calls are not charged by your carrier. Are they? Please check this out with your carrier.
If you are charged for the incoming calls by your mobile provider, then there will be additional fee for the callback.

Do you use an Online Number provided by Skype (Skypein)?

Is it possible they would charge you for these calls if you went over the carrier-provided data plan, like if you used a voip application like Skype?

Thanks in advance,

Jim

IM+ Talk application uses only your data traffic (not the voice traffic). We would recommend you to refer to your wireless carrier support team for more information about the plan you use.
