Voice Recording & sending real SMS

Postby alexfung » Wed Feb 15, 2012 4:16 am

1. It is great to be able to send voice recording. Seems IM+ is the only app that does it. However, IM+ is just using the native OS voice recorder and native OS capability to play it.

Problems:
  • Each time I send a voice recording, one more file is left in the OS voice recorder. I have to dig them up to delete them. Suggest IM+ to delete them after uploading.
  • The recipient only gets a URL link, and may not be able to play it. A .3ga file is created by my Android. My Windows doesn't know how to play it. My other Android displays the 3ga file as ANSI text in the browser. Suggest IM+ to process the URL received by (after user confirmation) downloading the file and playing it with an interal player.

2. Group chat is nice. Everybody can see everybody. But it requires everybody to be on the same protocol (eg MSN). And Google is not yet supported.

A step back, sending to multiple contacts is a one-off matter. I want to send to 5 people. They don't live on the same network. I just want to send them a message without retyping it four times.

Then it comes to SMS. IM+ supports so many protocols, why not SMS?

By integrating with SMS and supporting multiple recipients, it make messaging much easier. I can send to a dozen people, some on MSN, some on Google, some may be dumb phones receiving SMS. Type once, sent to all.

Yes SMS is not free. Give me a setting, or a warning whatever. But it is a good feature.

We can offer you to use our Beep service.
Your contacts should use IM+ Beep and then it does not depend whether the contact uses MSN or ICQ or any other services. You will be able to send the message to the chosen contacts.

The suggestion of using Beep is rather impractical because practially nobody is using it. The situation is even worse than Line. People will tell me to use WhatsApp instead.

XMPP chatrooms on IM+ ?

Postby Kyriog » Thu Feb 23, 2012 12:59 pm

I discovered IM+ few weeks ago and I'm really surprised by this software: really good UI, no disconnection problems, a lot of IM supported…

I am thinking about buying IM+ Pro, but I think it just lacks something: chatrooms using a XMPP account. I really need this functionnality on my mobile IM software because I have to be present in some rooms that I manage.

Can you consider adding this functionnality to IM+ (even if it's reserved to IM+ Pro users) ?

Thanks for reading :)

We are planning to add such an option to the next IM+ versions.

I agree with Amanda2099. Hope your im+ comes out soon for Android.

Basically, there is only 1 software that is capable of handling Jabber with conference/group chat. And its difficult to use.

Black/dark theme please. All white drains battery a lot!

Here's what I'd like to see:

1) The ability to set up an alert/watch/pounce/notification on specific contacts - I'm mostly interested in when they sign in - but others may be interested in all changes of status

2) The ability to export chat history to email or just plain text file
