Hey everyone.
Today I've downloaded a new IM+ version, 4.0.2
It's far better than 3.x versions were, but there's still some things that are not perfect.
First one is VERY bad quality graphics used in emoticons. You should definitely replace this graphics for HDPI-devices, because right now it looks awful.
Second one is inability to turn these emoticons completely off (and "Add smiley" button in messaging window, too). Please add this option, there are some people (like me, yeah) who hate graphical emoticons.
Third one is actually a bug, occurring with messages in UTF-8 (unconfirmed and depends on client, problem confirmed to occur when using Mail.Ru Agent for Android).
Well, that's it for now.
I hope this post will not be lost in these messages and you will consider my opinion :)
Thx.

UPDATE> version 4.0.3 still have these problems.
Please consider fixing them, because IM+ is perfect for me in most other ways (I mean multi-account support, history, notification system, etc.).

Any chance that there will be a black theme for this program?

Our ID panel

Postby egish » Thu May 05, 2011 6:52 pm

Currently in the Contacts tab we have an ID panel that rests on top of the online contacts. This identifys us, and our online and persnal message status. On this panel our avatar is located on the right hand side.

personally, in my opinion, I would rather see our peronal ID panel matc the looks of the contacts panel. This way our avatar is on the left and lines up with the ones below. Our online status icon can also line up with the ones below, and our personal message can also align up. This to me makes for a much more attractive ID panel with consistantcy through the GUI.

With this also rearranged, you can put the services that are activated in the accounts tab on the right hand side in the Contacts tabe. This would then match the look and feel of the services our contacts show below.

An added benefit to this will be.... then you do not have to go to the accounts tab to activate them. All the services you have signed up show. Active ones are colored, inactive ones are dimmed. If you tap on the service icon, it will turn it on or off. It acts as a toggle. This is faster than going to the Accounts tab

This is just my opinion, but I think it would clean it up and make it look better on the Contacts tab

I thought this was posted but I do not see it the Android forum.

Please consider adding the Twitter news feed service to the Android version like you have on the Apple iOS platform

It is very nice to have

Meta contacts

Postby egish » Thu May 05, 2011 7:28 pm

Currently in the Contacts tab we have all our contacts listed per the services we have activated. And if our contacts have more than one of those type services, they are listed as many times as they have differnet services.

So if I have a contact named Joe Smith ... if he has Skype he is listed, if he has Yahoo he is listed, if he has MSN/WL he is listed again and again, etc.

Can it be made so that we can show the Contact once and all the services a particular Contact has can be merged into one panel to be shown. Then you have Joe Smith shown in the contacts list, and on the right hand side it will show the Service icon for those they are subscribed to. Or maybe a down error to expand the contacts name to show all the accounts

This would help eliminate a very long list of contacts and consolidate them.

This is needed in all platforms

I didn't read the 7 pages of posts in this thread so forgive me if these are already stated, but here's my (obvious) list of features I miss from the iphone version that I am anxiously looking forward to -
  • per user notifications
  • saving chat history to plus.im
  • functional notification suppression when logged in multiple places

At the moment we are not planning to add new services.
We might consider it in future.

I want to be able to colorize the chat backgrounds, receiving bubble and sending bubble colors to the different colors that I want. Additionally I can choose a background image for my chat area. Like on the iPad version
