Thumbs up to the Shape Service dev team which sees no moral dilemma in charging customer's $10 for a bug-ridden application that as far as I'm concerned should have never left the BETA stage yet.
Yahoo wouldn't even sign in at first, finally when I got it to work it did properly for about an hour? Linked with my facebook, the contacts and the scroll bar would disappear beneath where the virtual keyboard comes in, this while being aesthetically unimpressive was tolerable because it did not take away from functionality.
Now 2 hours into using the app and Yahoo no longer refreshes and with no button to refresh, my only option is signing in and out. And even then it will only refresh so long as I don't send another message, as soon as I do i can't see the person I am conversing with's replies and I have to scroll past where it is letting me to see me recent replies (it auto scrolls back to when it was working when I let go).
Now the next day, I can't sign into anything but MSN which seems to still work but I've only ran it, not talked on that account so maybe that is why it hasn't started glitching. Yahoo pretends to sign in but all my contacts remain offline despite knowing who is online. Facebook can actually get in if I sign in and out like 5 times, it is always Reconnecting, Connecting, Processing, sometimes it can actually get me on my Yahoo as well since it doesn't seem to let me login normally. I get the "1 message" or whatever above contacts and inbox but can't click it. This app so far has been one massive head ache because obviously it wasn't free so I've been killing myself trying everything to make it work (No, japanese server doesn't work for me either).
Now I have used IM+ on other platforms and seen it is a good application, hence why I bought it. But now? I paid $10 and I don't even have the ability to message people? That's pretty shabby and I hope the dev team is still working hard to remove these numerous glitches.
I know a lottttttttttt of bugs started arising when I began backgrounding the app often (in showcase mode) to switch songs on Slacker Radio.
Aside from those glitches my personal gripes would be:
The GUI, it is pretty and all but needs a lot more as far as I'm concerned, you have so little options and I think there should be an interface before all the apps or one you can switch between them, organize them better, more options etc. Overall I think it is clean but you can barely do anything it seems really restrictive.
Video chat support (Yahoo, Skype), I know this is much easier said than done but I've seen a couple websites that supported video messages even with the playbook despite not having support for it specifically, so maybe it functions similarly to a webcam online just because they both use flash? I don't know.
More features, more settings, I wanna set pictures and use buzz's and such. And a function to reset you're IM+ back to original settings or refresh it because for the first hour of use it worked as advertised, no complaints on my end.
Now I know I may come off like a jerk but my $10 app barely works at all, so I'm frustrated.
