ICS push notifications - details and logcat

hey there,

i hope to shed some light on the broken push notifications on android 4.0.3/4.0.4 (ICS)

first of all, i made a logcat: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/16186798/cm9/lo ... e_info.zip (will be deleted in a couple of days)
it contains the following: logcat start, switching to im+, turning on push notifications, switchting to launcher, waiting about 10 minutes until push notifcations bail out - namely the status bar im+ notification icon disappears, stopping log.

i have the same issue on htc desire hd with an aokp ics build and on samsung galaxy tab with cyanogenmod 9. i had no problems with push services on android 3.2 honeycomb or on 2.3.7 gingerbread.

i did hope, the upgrade to 4.0.4 might fix the issue, but it didnt. other push notifications like all the google stuff works without problems. of course, background transfer is enabled.

as an (semi inactive) cyanogenmod developer, i can offer any help you might need. feel free to contact me via provided email address of this forum account - its a real mail address.

since non-push has a huge impact on my mobile data plan and also on battery life and cpu usage, i would love to help solving this issue.

In Push mode you should not see IM+ icon in the notification bar.
It is present only when IM+ is running in the background.
Do you receive any messages to Push after IM+ icon disappears?

Push mode and go to push in background, both checked. Notification was always around, showing me the number of connected accounts. I loved that, since it was my insurance that I am still connected.

If you cannot understand that issue,I can restore an old honeycomb image and do a short video.

the ten minutes the icon is visible, I can receive messages.
After that,I am shown offline, no notifications at all. Of course starting im+ again displays offline messages.

I use icq,MSN, and most of the time google talk.

Why don't you give me the sources,I debug it for you. Really easy with eclipse and adb (: okay, maybe I was not totally serious here.

But honestly, IM+ is such a great outstanding product, tablet compliant and all, its a shame you don't have ics debugging environment. But I bet, we can trace it (:

Before going to Push and after restoring from Push please press volume up or volume down button on your device.
This will make marks in your log file for the development team.
Then please submit a support request from IM+ upon restoring from Push using Menu / About.
Your log file will be attached automatically to your request.

We will check the situation on our side.
