Impossible battery drain

I own a Samsung Galaxy S II which I just recently upgraded to 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich from 2.3.6, and I noticed how IM+ makes an insane amount of battery drain, even on wireless.

Just today I left it on standby checking my messages occasionally on my desk, and I noticed how it drained my battery in a couple hours. I checked the battery usage - and IM+ used MORE BATTERY THAN THE SCREEN?

What is going on? This didn't happen in 2.3.6 ... Any suggestions?

Did you notice similar behavior change with other applications?

No, just IM+. I noticed that sometimes, it spikes CPU usage to for no reason, when the phone starts running hot, and won't stop. I have to exit and restart IM+ to make it stop.

You may try our IM+ Black beta.
With this version your battery should not be drained so fast.
