Hello again,
Is Yahoo down across ALL platforms of IM+? I have a used Treo 700WX that I was considering swapping my Verizon service over to (even though I'm not too fond of the much-smaller screen size) only because it has Windows Mobile 6 on it for an OS. I am reluctant to do that however because I have no accessories such as desktop chargers, spare batteries, car chargers, etc for the Treo. Are the newer versions of IM+ that work with WM5 and WM6 having the same issues with Yahoo currently? There are other programs that I don't like nearly as much as IM+ and their websites also say Yahoo is not supported currently, when last month it was. Yahoo is the main messenger program I use so it being down right now is a big issue to me. Please inform me if I swap over to the Treo, and install and pruchase IM+ for Windows Mobile 6, if Yahoo would be functional again.

Thanks again,
Bob

Is there any way I can convince you to update a version for WinMobile 2003? I really don't want to swap out to a different phone. What all is involved in the devleopment process? How much time/money does it take to develop an updated version? If you have Yahoo working again for the WinMobile 5 & 6 platforms, then you evidently know what would be the needed changes for WinMobile 2003. Please reconsider your decision to not support it.

scannerbob, it just came to my attention that you might not be using version 7.0.1 but rather 5.46.

If that's the case, please install v.7.0.1 from :
http://wap.shapeservices.com/download/s ... WM2003.CAB

This version should be working for Windows Mobile 2003 users.

Hello again.
Well I have an update for you Maria. The file from your previous post will not install. I get an error messege that states the following:

Setup Failed
The file "implus_ppc_ver_7.0.1_for wm2003" is not a valid Windows CE Setup file.

I know I get an error msg similar to that, if not exact, when I try to install one of the versions for WM5 or WM6 on my phone as well.. The reason I was using v5.46 was because that was the updated version specifically for WM2003 that Victoria had supplied me a link to late last year when Yahoo quit working. Any ideas?

Bob and Victoria

As you can see from my posts re this last Nov 2009, I had these same issues when trying to get an updated yahoo corrected version for my Smartphone 2003. However, thankfully, Maria and the developers did create a compatible installer and it installed OK and I can confirm that yahoo still works perfectly.
I cant believe that it is too much effort for your developers to build an installer compatible with 2003 surely ?

It is version 7.0.2 downloaded from:
http://wap.shapeservices.com/download/I ... WM2003.CAB

Depending on how the developers have built the cab file installer, it may or may not also install on a pockect PC 2003.

Actually, My version now keeps prompting to get the bug fixed upgrade including Skype support.

Hello,

My phone is the same device I've had when this problem first arose over a year ago. It consists of the following:

Audiovox XV6600 Pocket PC
Verizon network
Windows Mobile 2003 SE (second edition) version 4.21.1088 (Build 14235.2.0.0)

I tried to install the version 7.0.1 as listed above by Maria but I got the error listed in my posting. I then tried to install the version 7.0.2 as listed above by Skyhat, and once again got the same error message, that the file was not a valid windows CE setup file. I know that the slimmed-down version of windows for pocket-sized computers used to be called Windows CE around the time of win98 or so, maybe Windows Mobile 2003 uses the older, different setup format then Windows Mobile 5 and Mobile 6? Whatever setup format was supplied to me in version 5.46 that was a Yahoo fix around Oct of last year installed fine. I think the history of all this is listed above in the prior pages of this same forum post.

Version 7.0.2 cannot be installed, because it is intended for WM Smartphones, but you have WM Pocket PC.
I will check with dev team why 7.0.1 doesn't install.
